Creamy Five Spice Pumpkin Soup

When the leaves begin to fall and the cool breeze whips through your hair, it’s pumpkin time. This creamy, savory soup with sweet and aromatic spices will entice your senses and warm your soul.

    tbsp extra virgin olive oil

    cloves garlic, peeled and crushed

    cans pumpkin puree
  • 5
    cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • cup maple syrup
  • ½

    tbsp Chinese Five Spice

    cup heavy whipping cream


  • 1 In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil and garlic over medium heat for 5 minutes until garlic is fragrant. Remove the garlic and discard.
  • 2 Add pumpkin puree, broth, maple syrup and five spice. Stir until smooth.
  • 3 Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10 minutes.

    Remove from heat and stir in cream. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve.


Sprinkle with dried cranberries and roasted pumpkin seeds for added flavor and color.
