Growing up is interesting
While you’re documenting your child’s physical growth from year to year, why not track their personal progress as well? Ask them their favorite subject, who their best friend is, or what they want to be when they grow up—and write the answers alongside their photo. You can physically write it out or add it later with an app.
Have your child hold up their first day photo from the previous year. It’s a great way to see how much they’ve grown! And it’s a photo within a photo, which is super meta.
Tap into your artistic side and write out the grade your child is entering in a crafty way. It can be as easy as using sidewalk chalk, or decorating a poster together for your child to hold in the photo.
What’s in my backpack
Display the contents of your child’s book bag and photograph the items. It’ll be a great way to track their journey from crayons to calculators and everything in between.
First day/last day
Take a photo of your child in the same outfit on the first and last day of school and use a photo app to place them side by side. It’s a fun way to see how much they’ve grown during the school year—especially if they’ve literally outgrown their clothes.
